So while not necessarily in the full vein of Pop Culture Witchcraft and Pop Culture Paganism, Iāve had several requests regarding how to work oneās craft discreetly. And so I thought, why not put a little PCW spin on things while Iām at it at least?
Whether itās a nervousness about being open as a witch, wanting to be more subtle, or in some cases harsh living situations, thereās several reasons to want to be perhaps more inconspicuous in oneās inner ways. Though in the case of the latter situation in particular, āpleaseā make sure to put your personal safety and well-being first before trying any of these tips. We cannot guarantee that you wonāt get in any sort of trouble for these.
Starting off, we have
In-Game Ideas
Do you devote yourself to anyone in particular when it comes to Pop Culture Witchcraft or Pop Culture Paganism that stems from a game-based source? Do you enjoy playing games focused on decorating, building, or life simulators? Then why not try these tips!
Try making an altar or devotional space in games such as Animal Crossing, The Sims, Minecraft using in-game items or even modded items! Rooms and spaces can easily be made for general purposes such as elemental altars, nature-based altars, and depending on who you work with, even items that pertain to them in particular
Use games such as the aforementioned Animal Crossing or The Sims as a form of sympathetic magic! Want to focus on self-care and inner beauty? Why not give gifts to your favorite āSnootyā villager who represents those aspects? Want to perhaps make some misfortune come to someone? Make them into a Sim and get up to some mischief with their Sim-Poppet!
Donāt have space to do your own gardening but want to still do some sort of green witchery? Why not try farming sims such as Stardew Valley or Story of Seasons to scratch that botanical itch for the time being? You can even make digital spell jars in some cases by growing the plants that best represent your purpose and placing them in chests with other items that may also best represent that purpose?
These are just some possibilities in the way of In-Game methods of spellcrafting and the like, but what about those hidden little shows of devotion or love towards someone you work with outside of their mediums?Ā
Discreet Devotions and Obscured Offerings
Hear me out: Devotional Ita Bags. Collect charms, pins, stickers, etc. of who or whatever you work with! Work with a traditional pertaining to solar energies? Why not a brightly colored bag with sun-based imagery? Work with a pop culture deity/entity/spirtit/etc.? Places like Etsy and Redbubble just to name a few have plenty of options when it comes to fan-merch (of course make sure that the stuff from Redbubble is not stolen from other artists)
Playing an RPG game or something similar? Why not devote a playthrough for whomever you wish? Make your character a hunter-based class in honor of someone associated with hunting and the wild! Pop Culture Wise, if working with a game characters, why not play as them if applicable or even bring positive actions to your character of choice? Boost their stats, complete some quests, the whole nine-yards for them!
Weāve mentioned this before, but why not try making private moodboards, Pinterest collections, or even music playlists for whomever you work with? Energy and devotion is still energy and devotion no matter the medium, ancient and traditional or even modern and tech-focused. At the end of the day, itās your safety and comfort that matters the most.
While this isnāt a complete list of ideas, hereās a few to get yourself started! But as weāve said before,

Hi, friends! Iām back with another witchy FAQ from the past couple weeks. This time from the world of tech magic!
Here are some quick TL;DR technomancy tips for those who may not want to read the long FAQs post beneath the cut:
1. Chest spells (like a jar spell but with a chest filled with in game items that match the intent)
2. Poppet spells using the game characters by giving them items or altering their names/appearances
3. Similar to a chest spell but not necessarily magic per se - using chests or sheds with in-game items as altars and/or offerings
4. Build a shrine / altar / temple with offerings, or leave an item such as a torch in the game world as an offering
5. Burn/bury/destroy ingredients to activate a spell with the desired effect
6. Write an affirmation or a spell on a sign or other in-game item and destroy it to activate as a sigil
7. Build a golem or animal pen or something as a servitor for protection
8. Use some form of sympathetic magic connecting in-game items to IRL items
9. Light sticks, flashlights, plastic lightsabers, and toy sonic screwdrivers make *awesome* wands, especially if they light up and make noise.
10. The possibilities are limited to your imagination!!

Prepare yourself and your work space as necessary. Ground, meditate, call the powers, cast a circle, whatever it is you do to prepare for spellwork.
Arrange the items above in front of you, the candle and incense farthest away.
Light them, and let your desire build. What is the lie you think youāve been told? And the truth you want to find? Set the piece of foil out, and use it as a mirror of sorts. Stare into it, donāt focus on anything. Allow your vision to blur. Breathe deeply. Again think of the lie youāve been told and the truth that you suspect. Focus on only those as you continue to stare into the foil.
Take the stone or crystal, either or, and focus solely on your desire for the truth. Visualize that stone only absorbing the truth. Imagine it as a magnet for those facts that only pertain to the truth. Place it on top of the foil. Wrap the foil around the stone, make sure it is entirely covered.
Tie it up with the string, visualizing that foil acting as a mirror and reflecting away the negativity and the lies, but allowing the truth through into the stone.
CAREFULLY hold the charm up, allowing the light of the flame to reflect off of it for a moment, then wave it through the incense smoke.
Allow the candle and incense to burn out. Carry the charm with you the next time you will be confronting the liar, or the source of the lie. When you suspect you are being outright lied to, focus on the charm, clutch it in your pocket.
In addition to carrying this, make sure to use logic. I kept a journal of the supposed lies and kept them for myself to sort out any inconsistencies in the lie. Also, donāt use this as an end all to discern the truth of any situation. Clear, concise communication is always the best way to get to the truth of any matter.
A spell to break bad habits/ break addictions/ bind negative attributes of yourself -Inspired by Bilbo Bagginsā ability to part from the One Ring-
You will need
A ring (doesnāt matter the kind, but it must be disposable, or a ring shaped representation, also that is disposable)
an envelope- to represent you shutting and sending away the negative aspect
your favorite incense- to aid in your focus
a white candle- to represent cleansing and purification
a small glass of water- also for cleansing
tongs
What to do
For at least a day before the spell, keep the ring or ring representation with you. (the longer you keep it with you, the better attuned to it you will be.)
Immediately before the spell, think of your addiction, bad habit or troublesome attribute of yourself that you wish to be rid of, focus on it, and force it into the ring.
Visualize it as a mass of energy leaving your body, any color, and wrapping itself around the ring like a wire.
Light your incense and candle, pick up the ring with the tongs and (if youāre using a real ring), run it through the flame of the candle a few times. If you are using a non metal representation of a ring, do not put it in the flame unless it is NOT flammable! If it is flammable, hold it above the candle, but where the air is warm.
Visualize the energy on the ring, melting into it, turning into words upon the band or item.
Remove the ring from the flame. It may be hot so dip it in the water for a moment to cool it. Then run the item through the smoke of the incense and visualize the smoke creating a barrier around the ring to seal the negative energy in.
Place the ring in the envelope and seal it.
Find a place to properly dispose of the ring where it cannot come back to you, and do so. As you are disposing of the ring, imagine yourself free of the bad habit, addiction or troublesome attribute, and say āYou have no power here, You have no power over me, you have no control here, and now I shall be freeā
** If you do not wish to use a real ring that is fine! Use a stem from a plant that you have wound into a ring, or a paperclip you have curled into a ring, or simply cut a piece of paper into a ring and use it. It is simply used to represent a physical form for what you are trying to get rid of!*
